Stars and Fashion: is it true love?

Every woman loves their daily dose of celebrity gossip, news, and latest trends on and off the red carpet. We love the stars and celebrities around the globe, their fabulous lives, expensive taste, and sinful love lives. A true guilty pleasure, women love to find out the latest news going on in the world of celebrities.

It's a world that we are on the outside of, looking in, desperately wishing we were a part of it! We love celebrities and their posh lives, but what do celebrities love? Their fashion, of course! Attend any Fashion Week in any part of the world and note how celebrities from around the globe gather to witness the newest and hottest trends land from the runway to the wealthiest celebrities' hands.

These Stars are not shy about their love of fashion, wearing something as exquisite as Armani or Prada just to grab milk at the local grocery store, or adorning Chanel to hop on a red-eye to their next appearance on everyone's favorite late night now. Celebrities love their fashion, their style, and the world of couture available to them wherever they are in the world.

Best Dressed Stars of the Year

Every year, fashionistas and fashion police troops critique, criticize, and applaud the top celebrities style choices on and off the runway. A celebrity will attend a gala affair dressed in what she deems to be the best style only to find out the next day on Page 6 of the New Yorker that her outfit she thought was fabulous wasn't that fabulous at all.

Judged by the world, watched by all, it's an important feat for a celebrity to be able to pull off anything and everything from event to event, every day of the year. This year in 2012, the top fashion critiques from the fashion capitals of the world and major publications have weighed in on who they feel is the best dressed of the year. Notice any of these names? Agree with the expert's conclusions?

Kim Kardashian: While some do not agree with Kim's quickly ending marriage, her newest boyfriend, and how she portrays herself on camera-- many agree that her style is amongst the best and brightest in the world. She represents the curvier women of our generation and looks beautiful in everything she wears on and off the red carpet.

Emma Watson: This starlet is a tad younger than the other fashion-forward celebrities who's styles are everyone's favorite, however Emma Watson's style is classic, beautiful, and always trendy. This young Brit is loved by all and her style always airs on the side of sophistication and femininity.

Sienna Miller:  A celebrity with not nearly enough limelight as her colleagues like Kim Kardashian and Emma Watson, however her style is timeless and speaks volumes every time she attends an event or otherwise. Continually linked to her fashion icon Kate Moss,  Sienna Miller's sartorial style choices are loved and envied by all. When Sienna struts out with a  new look or accessory like a new pair of boots or halt  it is immediately picked up by other designers and fans wanting her look. She's a star-studded iconic celebrity fashion icon everywhere she goes.

Oscar of the Worst Dressed Stars

Being a worst dressed celebrity is an easier feat to manage than that of being a best dressed celebrity. Many celebrities tend to go over the top in their apparel, thus taking the term "fashion forward" overboard causing fans to fact their thumbs down when a celebrity embarks on the red carpet.

Kristin Stewart: Fashion critiques and and fashion police forces have begged for her to stop wearing such hideous ensembles when attending events or grabbing a latte. Stewart's knack for wearing drab colors, never brushing her hair and forgetting how to use eyeliner properly makes her among one of the sloppiest and worst dressed stars this year.

Nicki Minaj: Ask anyone about Nicki's style and everyone will groan. Her personal style includes dying her hair radical and neon colors for events such as high-class, red-carpeted award shows and movie premieres, while also wearing not nearly enough clothing to be appropriate and classy for televised and media covered events. Her hats worn to events offend the fashion police everywhere, and she's always overexposed thus not a favorite among parents.

She is also compared to our other worst dressed star Lady Gaga, yet another celebrity who shows up to events completely inappropriate and underdressed. Ever since Gaga's appearance in 2010 to award shows dressed up as items such as light bulbs and a pack of meat, always paired with some sort of crazy hat-- fashionistas everyone continue to snub their noses at this unusual yet talented singer and songwriter.

The Ascot Racecourse Event: a fashion experience!

There are few things in our culture that remain timeless and ever present. It is a difficult task for various counties to maintain their historic events that take place year after year, decade after decade. The Royal Ascot is among one of those timeless events that has never lost it's importance nor impact on our society and world.  This event is one that embodies the classic and rich heritage and essence of the Royal Family and all that it entails. For nearly 250 years, this spectacular horse race has taken place and brings together royalty, the British people, and the entire world. It is the event to which the British are known for, and is an event UK citizens count down to see.

What is nearly just as important as the races itself, is the fashion. One might not expect this from an event such as a horse race but this is unlike any other sporting event you'd expect. It's tradition, it's pageantry, it's style all gathered together for a five day race unlike any other. The crowd serves as each woman's runway as they wear the most unique and intricate dresses, designs, and hats for all to see and admire. Many of the next season's styles stem from that of the Ascot races as only the most prestigious, elegant, and fashion forward people attend.

Dress Code

When one attends a sporting event, you might not normally expect to be told that there is a dress code to attend. The Royal Ascot demands this of each of their attendees and even includes a style guide to review before attending. Those who do not abide by this are asked to leave the premises. Women are asked to wear dresses or skirts that are of modest length and do not fall above the knee but either just above the knee or lower. They cannot be too tight and the hemline must be straight. Women's dresses and tops must also have one inch wide or greater of fabric for the straps, and any strapless or halter dresses are forbidden.

Woman's hats are a must for this event; headpieces which have a base of 4 inches or more is allowed but only to replace a fashionable woman's hat. The diameter of the hat must cover at least half the woman's head and the headpieces must still be tasteful and not too tall as to not distract the onlookers.

Useful Information

Those that are not among the top and VIP attendees of the Royal Ascot race would be seated in the General Admission section of the Royal Racecourse. One must still dress appropriately, but not to the degree of the standards set out by the Royal Ascot guidelines. Attendees of the Royal Races are asked to dress elegantly and always wearing a hat.

Regardless if you're in the Royal Enclosure or General Admission seating, the fashion is very important at these events. Be prepared to make bets with colleagues, have others compliment and discuss your apparel, and stay late into the evening talking the past day's events. This is also a very social event, so plan to make connections, share a meal with those next to you and enjoy the company of Great Britain (and the world's) very best.
